Contemplating 2009

So, if I had to sum up a lesson God had for me in 2009 I would say it was (and still is) "learning perserverance". I really started to see the huge root laziness had a hold of my life. It will be a continual struggle, but I made some strides towards uprooting it. When I want to give up, the line from Finding Nemo crosses my mind when Dori sings, "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming". Sounds silly, but it has been something that not only makes me smile when it comes through my mind, it gives me that one little push that I needed to finish. That is what I desire - to be a person that finishes things - see's things through to completion. In 2010, I will be working to finish things that I've started in my home...finishing simple tasks, finish goals that I set for myself like start doing the things I've talked about for years. I set a lot of goals for 2009 that are now carrying over into 2010 but that is because I didn't realize how LONG it would take for me to accomplish just one of my goals in 2009 and I am grateful for the Lord's continual grace and mercy in my life.

On a lighter note, I want to re-cap some of the fun things of 2009, so they don't slip my memory forever.

- I was part of the Womens Retreat team - created some lasting relationships and really spurred me on more towards a ministry of prayer
- the girls had swimming lessons in the spring every Saturday for 10 weeks. It was a fun family time and great to see their confidence grow
- Keira's 4th birthday at Papa's Pizza (princess theme)
- Mia's 2nd' birthday at our house (Elmo theme)
- camping a couple times in the summer
- visiting grandparents at the beach a couple of times
- six awesome weeks home with my girls and Travis
- the start of a new job/new relationships
- the start of our early morning Bible study/seeing the amazing way God orchastrated it and new relationships
- stepping out in faith when finances were non-existent and watching God provide in amazing ways

I'm looking forward to seeing how God is going to move in 2010. He is AMAZING!
